The HANNA Direct Soil pH Portable Meter HI99121 was designed specifically for soil analysis and to bring simplicity to pH testing of soil. The specialized probe features a rugged conical tip, open junction design, and a glass body making it ideal for measuring the pH of soil directly or after preparation of a soil slurry with de-ionized water.

  • ±0.02 pH accuracy
  • Includes a plastic auger to break through harder soils.
  • Specialized for the direct pH measurement of soil.

Your measurements require detailed attention; so should your electrode. The Direct Soil pH Portable Meter HI99121 features a replaceable HI12923 pH electrode that has been carefully designed specifically for the pH analysis of soil and soil slurries.  Watch Hanna's How to Prepare a Soil Slurry HERE.

Probe Condition: An on-screen indicator provides visual confirmation that your probe is working at its best.

Low Battery Indicator: The included batteries provide 1400 hours of continuous use. When the battery level is below 10%, a warning symbol will blink to indicate low battery condition. When low battery power may affect your results, the meter will shut down to avoid erroneous readings caused by low battery level.

Automatic Shut-off: The auto-off feature can be set to shut the meter off at 8 or 60 minutes, or it can be disabled so that the meter continuously stays on. The auto-off feature prolongs battery life for peace-of-mind and energy savings if the meter is accidentally left on.

Built to be Durable: Designed to withstand the knocks, drops, and spills of real life, the new IP67 body ensures top performance in any environment. These meters are protected against dust and water intrusion from any direction.

Portable Design: Made to fit comfortably in your hand for on-the-go testing, the multilevel LCD display provides at-a-glance readings of pH and temperature from any angle and dual button operation streamlines the testing process for any user.

Quick Connect Probe: A Quick Connect DIN connector makes attaching and removing the probe simple and easy. The rubber coating protects the cable and provides a water-tight seal without twisting.

Open Junction: The open junction design reduces clogging from organic materials found in soil for a more stable pH measurement and reduced maintenance.

Conical Glass Tip: The conical shaped tip design allows for penetration into solids, semi solids, and emulsions for the direct measurement of pH in a variety of substrates used in agriculture.

Glass Body: A glass body is easy to clean, is chemically resistant, and quick to reach thermal equilibrium for a faster, more stable measurement. A built-in temperature sensor ensures fast, accurately compensated readings even during sudden temperature fluctuations.

We believe that buying a meter should be simple. Your Direct Soil pH Portable Meter is equipped with everything you need for successful testing right out of the box.

Electrode Cleaning Solution for Soil and Humus Deposits: Your Direct Soil pH Portable Meter comes with cleaning solution that has been engineered to keep your electrode free from debris found in soils. This concentrated combination of detergents cleans your meter quickly and effectively so that your meter stays in optimum condition.

pH 4 & 7 Buffer Sachets: When performing a pH calibration, it is important that the correct buffers are used. We include some start buffers to get you going. The single-use sachets are individually sealed so you use fresh buffer each time you calibrate.

Soil Preparation Solution: Using the HI7051M soil preparation solution prior to taking a measurement provides for a more accurate pH reading of soil samples.

Ground Auger: A plastic auger is sup‑plied to perforate and loosen the soil prior to measurement. This will prevent scratching the pH sensitive glass on nutrient crystals or small pebbles.
