Superior Quality From Japan’s Largest Mushroom Bag Producer

Sakato is legendary for their craftsmanship and attention to detail, qualities that made them Japan’s largest producer of mushroom cultivation bags. From the meticulously sourced polypropylene to quality tests at every stage of production, Sakato bags earn their reputation for quality and reliability with every harvest.

Creates a Controlled Growth Environment

Grow bags turn each block of substrate into its own separate biome, with either a 25 mm diameter 0.2-micron or 5-micron filter patch to create ideal airflow while filtering out contaminants and microbes. Sakato Grow Bags provide stability, control, ease of handling, and consistency.

The Right Bag For Each Task

Sakato mushroom grow bags are designed to meet the specific needs of different cultivation stages and environmental conditions, with each version tailored by filter type.

0.2-micron filter bags are ideal for grain spawn production, providing a sterile environment that effectively blocks contaminants while allowing gas exchange, essential for the healthy development of mycelium. These bags are perfect for growers who need to ensure maximum protection against molds and other competing fungi.

5-micron filter bags are best suited for substrate, offering increased airflow that supports faster colonization. These bags facilitate optimal oxygen levels, promoting robust mushroom growth.

#1 XL / 5-MICRON / SUBSTRATE

This extra large polypropylene bag is ideal for 5-10 lbs of substrate. Perfect for in-bag fruiting, it provides ample headroom for maximum growth.

#3 MEDIUM / 0.2-MICRON / INJECTION PORT / ALL-PURPOSE

This medium polypropylene bag is an excellent all around grain or substrate bag. Fit with an injection port, you can really do it all with this bag.

#4 SMALL / 0.2-MICRON / INJECTION PORT / GRAIN OR SUBSTRATE

This small polypropylene bag is perfect for grain or small fruiting blocks. Fit with an injection port, inoculating these bags is a breeze.

Clear Bag For Easy Observation

The clear material makes it easy to monitor growth and spot potential contamination at all stages in the growing process.

Sturdy Polypropylene Construction

These bags are made to last, constructed with 2.5 mil (65 microns) thick polypropylene that can withstand the high temperatures required for autoclave sterilization.

Premium Filter Patch Materials

Sakato grow bags are equipped with high-quality filter patches designed to deliver consistent gas exchange while maintaining contamination control.

  • T-Filters are made from Tyvek, a durable high-density polyethylene (HDPE) material known for its strength, breathability, and reliability in sterile environments.
  • R-Filters (used on polypropylene bags) are made from Gore-Tex, a polypropylene-based membrane that provides excellent airflow while maintaining a strong barrier against contaminants.

These premium filter materials are carefully selected to support healthy mycelium development, long-term durability, and dependable performance throughout every stage of cultivation.
